• As Catheartic Magazine is a student-run organization that aims to amplify youth voices, all submissions must be from individuals aged 12-26.

• If you are submitting multiple pieces, please do not submit them all on one document. Instead, please submit each piece separately. 

• We do not publish previously published work. 

• If you are submitting simultaneously, please let us know in the Any Questions? portion of our submissions form or by emailing cathearticmag@gmail.com. If your submission is accepted elsewhere, please let us know by emailing cathearticmag@gmail.com.

• We do not accept any work that is unoriginal, AI-generated, or discriminatory in nature.

 

For Creators:

• All writers and artists own the rights to the work they submit to Catheartic Magazine. 

• All writers and artists have the option to take down their work after receiving publication acceptance. If you would like your work taken down or omitted from our issues, please contact cathearticmag@gmail.com. 

• If accepted, you give Catheartic Magazine non-exclusive electronic rights to publish your work in our online issues and promote them on our social media pages.

• We ask for archival rights to keep your work in an archive of our issues. 

• We will never use your work for monetary gain. 

 

Artwork:

• We accept all high-resolution artwork including but not limited to photography, paintings, drawings, digital art, etc.

• If submitting traditional art, please ensure the photo is high-quality and well-lit, and that nothing is cropped out of the frame.

 

Poetry:

• Poems should be under 3 pages.

• Each poetry submission should consist of one individual poem. We cannot publish poetry collections or anthologies that are submitted as one piece/submission. 

• Please submit poetry as PDFs, Google Docs, or Word Documents (.pdf, .doc, or .docx). 

• We ask that all submissions are font size 12 in a standard font.

 

Prose:

• Prose should be under 2,000 words a piece. 

• Please submit prose as PDFs (.pdf), Google Docs, or Word Documents (.doc or .docx). 

• We ask that all submissions are font size 12 in a standard font.
